    In 2001 here it reached 46C - 114.8F.

We have weeks of 40C here and many UK residents live here permanently.

I think one of your Family lives very near me, Match.

You get used to it. :)

TBH it just annoys the hell out of me, We had a bad winter, and everyone is told to stay at home, Never been one for doing as told so I threw some old carpet cut off's in the back of the car with a spade and drove 300 Mile where's the problem?

Now we have a heatwave forecast, I'll wear a hat and drink plenty of fluids, and stay covered, I would say I'll avoid strenuous labour out side, but I do that anyway anywhere any weather.

What has happened to common sense and being prepared ? is British society such that they now have to tell people how to dress and behave in different weather conditions? maybe we should start calling it Mollycoddled Britain instead of Great

A handy hint, Match, is anyone in the home is distressed from the heat is to put wet face washers in the freezer and fridge.

They really are refreshing and cool you down.

The washers stay cool for some minutes even in heatwave conditions.
