    Welcome back Mark!
It is the wrong forum so I will be moving it to networking:)
Can you give us a bit more information on your wireless setup. Are you using a Modem plus a router, a "dongle"?

You say you used a "flashdrive " to set up previous connections. What was on the flashdrive and where did it come from.

Finally, what operating system is on the new computer?

Its got its own built in wireless card.. yes it is a modem plus router....the flashdrive was used for connecting all pcs & laptops to router...for security keys...instead of typing them in manually, the op system on handheld is windows mobile..mark

You will need to go into your router settings from your own computer and retrieve the security settings. That is the only way to rule out an incorrect WEP or WPA key. If you do not know how to do that give us the model number of the router.

Try typing 192.168.1.1 into your address bar and that should get you into your router. I am not sure, but if you did not set up a special password the Login is usually Admin for both the user name and password. If that gets you to the router but does not let you log in then I will look further.

The BT site for support is http://www.voyager.bt.com/index.htm but we are not at the point where you need that yet. BT does supply an installation disc for the router. Have you used it on the new machine? Most of that kind of software will either locate the key or help you through finding it.

Before you drive yourself crazy keep a record of the key and try installing the BT software on the new machine if you have not done that yet. It will generally troubleshoot automatically.

Lets recap here and see if we are on the same page. You can "see" your network but cannot connect to it at all? When you try to connect you get the message to put in your key, is that correct?

Are there any unsecured networks in the area that you can log onto as a test? If you are sure you have the right key I would suggest you try the following:

1 power down the modem (disconnect from the mains) and let it sit for a few minutes. Do the same for the router and all computers.

    2. Repower the modem and let it fully set. (All Lights that should be on are on.) Next do the same for the router.

    3. Once they appear to be set then start the new hand held and try again. (Ordinarily I would suggest that you reset the modem using the reset button but I am concerned that I am unaware what BT does with those things. Offhand I doubt it would be a problem but I am being cautious until one of the UK guys weigh in.)
