Seems like everything's back to normal. (whew) The jumpy/ sticky issue I think is still there, I'll wait to see on that until I've done more with the computer. I looked at Firefox help, and they agree with you that a refresh or re-installation may be needed, but at least some of my personal stuff may be lost in the process. If it comes to that, I'll have to keep some sort of records, perhaps in a saved document, so I can restore them. It took me quite a while to get FF fine-tuned, and I don't want to have to try and re-create everything. My memory is as good as ever, but as a geezer, it's a lot shorter than it used to be.

If you plan on addressing the FF issue, then here is the info on how to back up your Firefox Profile:

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Once it's backed up, try refreshing Firefox first:

    1. Click the menu button and then click help .
    2. From the Help menu choose Troubleshooting Information. ...
    3. Click the Refresh Firefox button in the upper-right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page.
    4. To continue, click Refresh Firefox in the confirmation window that opens.
    5. Firefox will close to refresh itself
If the refresh doesn't help, then go ahead with the uninstall and re-install.

Seems like since the display fault is corrected, FF loads promptly and the sticky response issue hasn't appeared yet- but I haven't been on the computer much since then. But I'm going to keep your post handy. Do you happen to know whether any sort of info that I've entered into FF is lost?

Nothing you did will affect the Firefox data. Refreshing or re-installing will remove the data, so you would want to the back up beforehand.
