Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here it is. I've been trying to install some stuff from a cd-rom on to my computer (which is running windows xp professional ed) and i keep getting the message "Data error: cyclic redundancy check". When this happens, the install stops abruptly.

I don't think the cd is at fault because it installed when i tested it on another computer. Ideas, guys?

Could be a bad cd drive. I've had the same error beofre a cd drive went completely bad.

Oh no. That was the last thing I was hoping to hear. Strangely enough, I managed to install a different piece of software from that very same cd-rom drive. And some cds that I use to back up data seem to read fine.
