Cybercriminals have launched a new Facebook scam that leverages the name and reputation of Adriana Lima, the famous Brazilian supermodel and Victoria's Secret angel.
The scammers are spreading adult pictures accompanied by a post which promises a raunchy tape featuring Adriana Lima.

Sabari Selvan of E Hacking News has analyzed the scheme and has found that the crooks are actually trying to hijack accounts.

Users who click on the links, which appear to point to an adult website, are taken to a site that presents them with a fake YouTube window.

When the play button is clicked, a “verification” box pops up asking victims to “move the favicon out of the box.”

By doing so, victims are actually handing over their Facebook authentication tokens, allowing the scammers to hijack their accounts and use them to further distribute the scammy posts.

Facebook customers are advised to be on the lookout for such posts. In case you’re a victim of the scam, be sure to remove the bogus Adriana Lima messages and all other posts published on your behalf from your Facebook timeline.
