Both your cores are working as they are showing different activities, sometimes if the cores show as doing the exact same thing there is a fault.

When you installed the chipset driver was there one for the CPU aswell? (this is more common on AMD chips and is normally shown as a windows optional update)

 

Hi Dalo,I didn't see a seperate Driver update for the CPU.
In Device Manager,under processors,Windows could not find more recent Drivers,than the ones,I have installed.
Should I look further,somewhere? Thanks.

I downloaded and installed the Optimizer,and seems faster.Dalo.
Must run in the background.
I will time load times,of some sites and see whether you think the times are reasonable.
Not from Tags.

Just a thought as Dalo, is doing so well here but do you have the right Mobo chipset drivers installed?

I have the latest Windows Drivers,Match,both for the Motherboard, and both Processors.

 

If you know the make and model of your Motherboard it may be worth looking to see if their are any drivers on the manufacturers site specific to your motherboard model

 

It's a Palit AMD AA-780G Motherboard.

Downloaded the 7 series chipset Drivers,but havent opened the Zip File,as I am not sure if I downloaded the correct Drivers.
This is all a bit out of my league.

Unless you purchased your MOBO over a year ago the drivers should still be the latest ones.
Your BIOS did have an update earlier in the year though.
DONT install the new BIOS - but have a look in the release notes and see if there are any speed improvements to what you describe as happening Doug

The Tower was Built in November 08.

 

You will already have the latest chipset driver installed then.

Doug, I want to go back to basics here, can you tell me how much RAM you have and what is the rated speed of the RAM, make of RAM will help.
Next can you tell me what HDD you have - is it ATA or SATA 1 or 2.

looking back at your thread, I think you/we may be addressing the wrong issue.
If your RAM or HDD is not working as it should then that can cause your CPU to 'throttle' as it tries to compensate.
