    Hello,
Since a short while my pc reboots randomly.
I reinstalled windows that did not help even though it was a complete format.
Tried any possible anti virus and malware scanner to see if anything is on my pc which should not be on it, again this was not the case because all scanners could not find anything.
I also opened my case to see if any wires could make short circuit or that a plug did not fit well.
Unfortunatly this also did not help.
The strange thing os that is restarts randomly without any error message. Its like a complete reboot like when you press the reboot button.
Sometimes it does it 0 times a day sometimes 30 times. And when you try to study on your pc it makes it really hard to do so.
Also when i play any game not online but on my pc it does not reboot.
I am out of options and hopefully somebody can help me with this.

    Hi, and welcome to CHF,
there can be many reasons for this happening, firstly are you sure there is no message flashes up when it shuts down?
To find out if there is, restarting needs to be disabled so any message will stay up long enough for you to see and copy it down.

To disable the restart, you have to get to the Windows Advanced Options page sometimes known as the start of "Safe Mode"

Shut down the computer and reboot from the power button, straight away start tapping the F8 key untill a black screen with white writing comes up, With the up and down keys, move the white highlight up or down onto "Disable Automatic restart on system failure", then click the enter key, it will boot up normally, but if and when it shuts down, any messages should stay on screen.

You said you have looked inside, is there any dust or fluff clogging cooling fins? If so this could be causing overheating which is a common cause of random shut downs.

Next is to check temperatures, we need a program called Speccy to find those out for us, download and install Speccy from here=

    http://www.piriform.com/speccy

Once installed and opened, leave the machine on and use it for a while, then check the system temperatures it is showing and post them here please.

    Nev.

Please make sure you read PlasticNev's suggestion right above this post. I have one small suggestion. Immediately upon reboot when the computer has been unused for a while open speccy and make a note of your temperatures. That way we will be able to see if there has been a dramatic change as well as the Temps when being activly used.

One option you may try, is to right click my computer, and open up properties.

next, click on advanced system settings.

click on startup and recovery settings, and try flicking off the option box marked with automatically restart.

This may or may not give you more of an insight into what is causing this, or it could fix the problem.

now if worse things start happening after this is done, we can derive that there may be possible problems with your memory dump.

the strange thing is there is no Display or error message at all, it's like when somebody all of a sudden presses the restart button.
it just restarts i will try this temperature meassurement tool and see if i can find anything out of the ordinairy.
And the other options as well i will put my findings here.

Hi temujin89. All good advice so far.
If the above fails to correct the issue I would update the Bios.
One of my Computers was doing the same and if I remember correctly updating the Bios fixed the problem.

Agreed. and updating your drivers, video card drivers in particular would not be a bad idea either.
