I need help fixing my computer. When I start it, it gets to the screen that says "<F1> for setup, ,<F10> for system recovery" then it goes to the blinking cursor for like 2 seconds before automatically rebooting. I don't have any viruses, the jumpers are in the right spots on the hard drive (no slave connected either) it has a new ribbon cable (I replaced it because I thought that might be the problem as it was happening before I replaced it) and the A: drive is connected right as are the CD and DVD drives. What might be the problem?

Also The Hard drive has XP professional installed.

also I should have said, I can enter setup and the F8 menu but I can't boot in safe mode (or any mode for that matter) and trying "last good configuration" doesn't do anything either.

Have you installed any new programs or any new hardware? Have you updated any drivers?

Sound like you're having driver problems.

I haven't updated, installed or changed anything on it. It's not connected to the internet either.
