    Hi.

My monitor has been blurring for sometime now. Now the blurring is better but the colour keeps almost fading away. It's sort of discolured. Is there anything I can do?

    Thanks.

    Welcome to CHF.

    How old is the monitor?
    Is it CRT or LCD?

It's CRT but I'm not sure how old it is because I got it second hand. Probably a couple of years old.

Two things spring to mind, either the monitor is dying or the graphic card is playing up.
If it is possible, plug the monitor into a different machine to see if the problem persists, if it does then I would think your monitor is on its last legs. If it dosnt then check your graphic card settings/drivers.

I agree with Alan completely. The only way to check is by trial and error. If another Monitor works correctly on your machine (remember to check resolution when you change) then it is almost definitely the monitor. If you are getting the same result then it is a graphics problem. I know little about your beautiful country but assume that there is no local Walmart or Best Buy where you can just go and get a cheap monitor.

I better get a new one then. And yeah, getting things fixed here is somewhat difficult, the only way to get a cheap monitor is to get it second hand(again).
    Thanks for the replies anyway.

Please check it first it is 50 50 between the monitor and graphics card.
