I don't know why but I love clocks.

There are over 100 here, all free and configurable with an alarm, etc etc etc. No install, just run the .exe.

I've been doing a bit more playing with one of these and am very impressed.
They can be rotated, swivelled and zoomed. I have it showing the day, date, am/pm and also a digital readout.
A click on the centre pops up a full calendar.
I have regained a lot of real estate by removing my gadget clock and calendar as this has it all.
    Good stuff.

The time to worry, is while shaving, you look in the bottom right corner of the mirror to see what time it is.

Otherwise, at my time of life I try to avoid clocks, time is flying past quickly enough as it is. Sorry if you like clocks, and of course they are useful, but just thought I would give my view.

Clocks are everywhere and we live by them. I like a nice clock on the desktop.
Much better than looking at the time in the Task bar.

Thanks for those. Plenty of choice there. I've been using a clock out of the Windows gadget gallery up to now. I'll try a few of those shown on that site instead.

I like a high profile clock on the Desktop. Late at night when I doze off in front of the computer and then wake up again, I can see immediately that I ought to stir myself and go to bed. Well, I have a television just off to my left and a very comfy chair to sit in. No wonder I doze off. :)

I now have a Vector clock stuck in the middle of my desktop that is working but completely unresponsive. I cannot access the menus or move it or anything else. It doesn't show up in task manager or the control panel.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Bill, it has to be somewhere. There are 2 things I would try.

First I would go to msconfig. In windows 7 you can just type it into the search box and select it from the top. Go to the startup tab and disable it from there. Then save and get out of msconfig and restart the computer. Hopefully it will be gone. If you have a "run" box in your start menu you can type it there and it will open automatically.

Next I would try to find the program using the search box and see if it has a built in uninstaller. If you have revo uninstaller, I would either use it or get it. :)

Thanks BeeCeeBee. It was in msconfig but not named -"unknown software,"

I changed from Desktop clock when I came across 'T-Clock'. This one enhances the System Tray clock. I won't give a download link because there are a few reputable places it can be downloaded from. Only a quick search is necessary. Here's a screenshot of it on my computer:
