The statement was issued in Lyon, France, on Tuesday by the International Agency for Research on Cancer after a weeklong meeting of experts. They reviewed possible links between cancer and the type of electromagnetic radiation found in cellphones, microwaves and radar.

The agency is the cancer arm of the World Health Organization and the assessment now goes to WHO and national health agencies for possible guidance on cellphone use.

The group classified cellphones in category 2B, meaning they are possibly carcinogenic to humans. Other substances in that category include the pesticide DDT and gasoline engine exhaust.

Last year, results of a large study found no clear link between cellphones and cancer. But some advocacy groups contend the study raised serious concerns because it showed a hint of a possible connection between very heavy phone use and glioma, a rare but often deadly form of brain tumor. However, the numbers in that subgroup weren't sufficient to make the case.

A little knowledge in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing, the French aristocracy found that out during the French revolution :)

What I mean is all electric currents produce microwaves, obviously the bigger and stronger the current the more microwaves and electromagnetic radiation, also we get bombarded with it from the sun so worrying over a little from a mobile phone seems pointless, but hey it takes your mind of the cancerous chemicals that we are surrounded by.

the long and the short of it is, no matter what eventually we will die, 2-3 thousand years ago it would be by 30ish, now we can expect to live to 80+ but I don't see the point in worrying over when or how or what's good for me or what's not, enjoy what you have and make the most of it, as I have no evidence that I will get a second chance.

and always look both ways before crossing the road as a bus could spoil all our plans :snckr:

unfortunately not for you or any member, the main reason is to prevent confusion in the technical threads by people editing or changing answers and information, but if you really feel you want a post editing just PM a member of staff with the information on what you want changing :D

well, MATCH, THE information about those cell phones is nothing to be sneezed at.
Just think, I never knew smoking was a bad thing, but certainly quit smoking when I realized the dangers and it was the worse thing I ever did, trying to quit and the best thing I ever did, quitting. Warnings are good for all of us , don't you think?
and thanks for letting me know after a few minutes, we cannot edit.MAKES me look again at my postings to correct all my mistooks.
    love
