Can't locate Scripts Virtual Directory that MBSA suggests I remove

Discussion in 'Windows Security' started by LeftCoast_Dave, Jun 24, 2009.

  1. Hi,
I'm running WinXP-SP3, with latest updates I am aware of. MS Baseline
Security Analyzer gives a warning that "Scripts virtual directory was
found under one or more web sites". Step 2 of the "How to Correct this"
info is "In the Internet Information Services Manager, right-click the
    virtual directories to remove...".

Trouble I'm having is that there doesn't seem to be one (or more), at
least by the name "virtual directory". Where are they?!? And given that
I have all FTP sites, SMTP virtual Servers, and Web Sites (all of which
are only default) stopped, is this even an issue?

Ah - noticed a directory named Scripts the is apparently empty, has a
red octagon with "Error" inside to the left; it resides under (local
computer/ Default Web Site (Stopped), along with _vti_bin, tsweb,
Printer, Printer3, Printers, and CrystalReportWebFormViewer2. Is this it?!?

Anyway, advice on how best to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks - Dave
