I tried everything eith my system in the bedroom and I can't get online.

    1. The Local arwa connection is on and showing that I am online with no problems.

    2. I use a cale connection to get online.

    3. I also put another pc on the same connection in the room and it worked fine.

    4. I ran spyware removal and also ran virus programms. Found some viruses and repaired them but I still can't get online.

How is tcp/ip configured for the network? DHCP? Static IP?
    What does ipconfig /all say?

I think he means goto a command prompt and type :

    ipconfig /all

Then post your results. I'm sure its probably something simple and silly thats overlooked, just gotta figure out what it is.

Perhaps the machine is setup for a different connection type, maybe TCP/IP is configured wrong, Is it configured to share files/connection correctly?

So many ways to go here.

    goto RUN and type

    CMD

first, this will open a command prompt window... then type

    IPCONFIG /ALL

    Inside the command prompt window

Theres no default gateway listed, this should be the same as your DHCP server number. DNS Suffix Search List is also not listed

Also I'm curious about your host name... usually this would be the name of the computer your on. The photo shows it as saying FRONT... is this implying FRONTIER INTERNET ?? Or is that just what you named it when installing XP ? The reason I'm asking is I wonder if you maybe just typed in the wrong info in the wrong boxes when you configured it.. sure seems like it..

Wish I was in front of the screen, I'd probably have it in less then a minute..

It appears to be a DHCP error in your configuration.

Can you at LEAST log into the modem or can you ping the other PC ??

Also did you enable home networking in the network setup wizard??

I guess what I'm really asking, is are the 2 computers able to communicate with each other... if so then we can focus this a little better.
