Hi, i have a hard drive id like to access since i use it very often and i have no way of accessing it.
This happened after i reinstalled my windows because the hd with my previous windows failed me ,well it works but theres non stop clicking.Id rather not risk using it anymore.

Ok so in computer management / disk management , i see my hd and it says its (System,Active,Primary partition)

Can anyone help me access it.Ive never had such a problem in the many years ive had this computer.

Also i had my computer running for 16 hours and the memory usage was at 3.6 gb /4 gb .There were messages asking to close down firefox. Is this normal ? This never happened to me even when i had the computer running for 3 or more days.

And one last thing,is it a good idea to install windows on a 5900 rpm hdd or its better on a 72000 ?

As for games they will be installed for sure on a 7200 rpm.

    Thanks !

Hi and welcome to Computer Help Forums.
What method are you using to install the OS and if a disc where did you get the OS from?
    Is it a OS copy?
Have you set the boot order in the Bios?
The OS will install on either Hard Drive.
Games are better on the faster Hard Drive.

    Thanks for the welcome.

    a disc from the internet.Its a copy.

Yes i have set the boot order in bios as usual, only problem is that all the harddrives i have are the same except for one so its hard to tell which is which.

Yes i know it will but i was wondering which is better ?

Yeah thats what i always do.

Torrent copies seldom work properly and normally cause all sorts of issues, and you are downloading any malware the seeders may have on their computers. Bad Practice.
Have identical Hard Drives are a pain.
Bring up Disc management and take notice of their Drive letters.
Any OS open will change to C: Drive.
The faster the Drive is the better one as far as response times go.
I suggest you run Malwarebytes Free and run a full scan preferably in Safe Mode.Tapping F8 repeatedly on Boot.
Then get a legit copy of Windows and reinstall.

Well this is only a temporary thing until i get the money to buy an actual copy of windows. Its kind of pricy.

    Ah yes ,youre right!
I did that and my c: drive is the one with my windows, the other hard drive i cant access ,i cant do anything to it not even putting it offline.

Ok so its better to install my windows on a 7200 then ok ill do that.

Im doing the malwarebytes scan but i already did an eset scan of my whole computer and it didnt find anything.

Yeah i should be getting a legit copy soon

Ok so i did as you asked , except for the legit copy.I did a malwarebytes scan with the pro version in trial mode.Got a few malware but i dont think they are the cause because i had them for over a year and i didnt have any problems before that.

So i reinstalled my windows and so far everything is good except for the same problem, one of my hard drive, now another one which i used alot, is unaccessible it says its (System,Active,Primary partition) but its only where i store my tv shows.there are no programs there or anything installed. Do you think there something that can be done with a partition magic or a partition related program ?

And as for the memory problem ill see if it happens again hopefully not anymore since that was a strange problem.Maybe it could have something to do with me cleaning the computer with a vaccum cleaner and hitting something,i dont know, hopefully not.
