can you help with parts for new build?

hi i built a pc on pc part picker and i would like to see if you guys think it ok for light gaming and if i should change something or if parts are uncompatible tnx 4 ur help

do i need a better cooler for the cpu or is the stock one cool?

 

You definitely need a better psu as Cooler Master is low quality and I think you could have found a motherboard for the same price that has 4 ram slots which give you more opportunity for growth without tossing out your memory each time....do you realize that had you taken 2 sticks of 4 gb ram you could have utilized dual channel memory which would give you a slight edge for speed.
If you can change it please pick an 80+ psu like Thermaltake at 500 watts, Seasonic or XFX, end even EVGA has a decent 500 watt psu that isn't high priced. That part is way too important to chance low quality there as they degrade over time and become even poorer. I like your video card a lot and as a rule prefer Msi boards just always try for 4 ram slots is all. Cooler Master cases are great. Can you change any of that? Oh and Stock cooler for light gaming is quite good also.

Yes that's a much better choice for the PSU. As for for downloading Windows, if you mean a illegal pirated copy then no you shouldn't as it's illegal.

 

Great job you changed all the objectionables and will have a much better build. The board, ram and Psu are fine now.

 

If you mean you can get Windows cheaper by downloading that is fine as long as we are talking about legit Windows.
Your video card is fine. In order to improve your cpu you would have to go to an i5 which could be a lot more $ as an i3 isn't much
different from where you are at.

 

The next decent move would be to the i5 4460 and I would like that a lot if you can afford that. The i3 cpus have the same cache so they aren't that different.The i5 4460 is a quad core with double the cache so there you would benefit.

 

The i5 would have Hyper Threading which creates two pipelines of communication on one thread. It creates 8 logical cores in essence.

 

Actually I would check that Ray as I believe the i7 is the only one with hyper threading, still 4 cores though.

Not any of the mainstream I5's just laptop or power saving versions really. An example would be my older HP laptop with the I5 it has 2 physical cores and 4 logical cores. It's basically a dual core with hyperthreading. I7 mainstream processors are the ones with 4 Physical and 8 logical Ray. Example I7 4790 (Or 4790k), or 4770k they have 4 physical cores, but if you open up the task man - resource monitor, or something like MSI afterburner it will show as 8 cores but it's really a 4 core with hyperthreading.

 

And AMD example of this technology would be an FX 6300. 3 Physical cores 6 logical cores . FX 8350 4 physical 8 logical. FX 8350 is in reality a 4 core chip with their version of hyperthreading. FX 6300 being a 3 core chip with their version of Hyperthreading. Your AMD 955 Phenom is a true 4 core processor.

 

I've came across i5's that have hyperthreading. They all don't no.

 

AMD was Hyper transport which is nothing like Intel Hyper Threading. Hyper threading takes one thread and creates two pipelines of communication.

 

I do like the OP's revised list. I would get an I5 4460 in place of the I3 but that's just me.
