    Hi!
I`ve asked it on other places, but I need immediate answear, so please help me!
We`re upgrading our few years old system to new configuration. Here is it:
    • Dual Xeon-2.8 GHz CPU, 4Gb RAM, 1TB HDD
    • Xeon 7000 Sequence, 8GB RAM, 4 TB HDD
    • Intel Xeon DP 3.8F, 4 GB RAM, 2TB HDD
I`m running MS Windows Server 2003 R2 on old stuff. I want to install Windows Server Core R2, and manage it remotely, either iSCSI, while on other 2 – Widows Server 2008 R2. I`d like to install Server Core R2 to Xeon-2.8, to run Active Directory Domain Service and Hyper-V on it.
Also I`m thinking to purchase Discs Array HP StorageWorks MSA60. My old shared storage was managed by such iSCSI solution as SvSAN, but it`s no good for me now.
What would you adjust me, please?

    Hello Dino and Welcome!

I know we have people familiar with server hardware and software but not one is on line at the moment. So I guess it depends on what you mean by immediate I'm afraid.

I think I can wait for a while. Immediate for me is about 2-3 weeks maximum.

    Computer Brand or Motherboard:
ASUS - are there any others worth buying?
    CPU:
Q6600 at 4.0Ghz per core (Watercooled)

    Samsung - all the way

As with any Server OS you can set up remote access using the software within the OS, there is normally another disk supplied with the OS called Client disk, which will allows what I think you need.

You can get remote access to the PCs connected to the server and connect to the server from the PCs, so I dont understand what you are trying to set up?

Thank you. It`s all correct. My question what iSCSI software is better to use for managing my stuff?

You do not need any additional iSCSI software - it is integrated within server OS through the client disk

When you install the Server OS
you will then need to install the client software to any PC that you will be using to share info from the server, the iSCSI software is included in the client software to allow you to manage your server remotely

OK. WSS does supports the iSCSI, but how about functionality? I think it`s better to use product of the vendor, who is major in developing iSCSI.
