Here is a fireworks shot I made using Camera RAW format.
Its low resolution, so scoot back some so that it looks sharper for you. ;)

    Guess I got egged... ON!
So, here is another from an earlier shoot. Just for laughs and grins.

That lavender is really nice, I agree.
That shot was worked on in Adobe CS, to take down the washed out white over exposured parts, and to bring
up the lost shadows areas. This technique is particularly suited to fireworks, as they are super bright.

The exposure latitude of film and digital leaves a lot still up in the sky. Film and darkroom techniques cannot
correct that, but digital Camera RAW and the Adobe CS can help dramatically.

The results are more like the human eye sees during the shows. Its a pretty big deal.

I also have shot 16mm and 35mm film and video and adjusted the audio track to be in sync with the explosions.
That is only possible to experience in real time, if you are up in the bursts, which might not be a great idea.

    'splosive!

Well, I cannot go back and correct my typo, so here goes....
    It is "exposed", not exposured.

Its funny, at least, but not too bright (pun intended).

Glad to be able to share the work! Copyright me, of course, but we have no control over images uploaded to the public domain. Its just a fact of digital life. Fortunately, the reward is in the sharing.

Love your 'Toronto Fireworks', Johnny! The colours are absolutely incredible, as well.

Copyright is the oddest thing now that the internet is part of our lives, isn't it. In fact, it amazes me that there are literally millions of free to use images out there (wahoo!! :) ) and others are free to use but only if not used for commercial profit. Yet, even those clearly marked as copyrighted, are often swiped. I think of the latter as kind of 'shoplifting' only without much danger of getting caught and it's such a shame.
