Anyone know a good free browser to try? For Windows XP and Windows 7?
I have Firefox, Google, Opera and some are rejecting websites for says their security certificates are incorrect or they are not safe, or the browser has stopped supporting earlier versions. Thought I would see if there is a more suitable one.

Hi BG. in my opinion you already have the best browser installed. Maybe you should investigate more thoroughly the different settings that are already available to you within the browsers you have.

I'm not really knowledgeable enough on this subject to offer any other advice on this subject, but I'm sure if Starbuck see's your post, that he could advise you.

One thing I will say though, is that the weakest part of most people's systems is the user themselves. I mean all of us when I say that.

If your clock is set correctly and the sites are trustworthy, certificates shouldn't be questioned.

What sites are in question here?

Actually I forget the site but it was Firefox browser. Actually Im not trying to protect anything but just trying to go to site I select. Most of these sites are not dangerous or new to me but there is so much security and protection around I might as well not even have a computer for cant do anything.
I dont minimize protection or the desire for it but I do go out of my house and there is no concrete wall with armed guards around it. I like to be the one to decide my level of risk, not the PC, and lately it is getting harder to do.
I have seen where some of you use some different browsers but I didnt recall names. Had been using firefox but it is getting picky.

You have the best and most popular Browsers, as others have said.
You use an old unsupported XP OS, then the security risk is yours.
Quite often if Firefox blocks a website, then often Qpera will open the site.
You can often get the same information from more than one website.
Only try and open with Opera, if WOT gives the site the green icon.
I recommend you install WOT (Web of Trust) on each browser you use.
A little extra level of security.

First, as many have already said, you should NOT ignore security warnings, especially considering the proliferation of Ransomware. You should be suspicious of sites who do NOT keep their certificates up-to-date.

    BUT:
    • When was the last time you cleared browser caches?
Firefox has an Add-on "Empty Cache Button" that adds a button to the Firefox Toolbar.

Since you have several browsers, you may want to consider CCleaner, which will clear all browser caches and more. I've use the Pro version for years.
    • Look at the security settings in each browser, all of them.
For Firefox [Tools][Options], the [Advanced] tab contains the Certificate options.

For IE see [Tools][Internet Options], especially the [Advanced] tab.

Firefox also has a fine Add-on just for certificates, Certificate Patrol.

Maybe I never cleared anything. Usually just use it to search. Have old IE8 but like the Firefox best. Use DuckDuckGo mostly when I want to search. Actually it only happened that one time but I expected to get to site and have forgotten which one it was.
I will take a closer look at FF and the settings. Version 47.0.

i know what you are saying, but the fact that Microsoft don't support internet explorer anymore since 1/1/2016
the only supported is i IE 11 , so they will be problems for people that use ie 8-9-and 10
