Such a horrid thing, hard to find words about it, but it seems to be like an infection that is spreading....

I think, in part, it is the same mind set as those that make a computer virus... "Do it because I can and it makes me feel important.". Also there is a strong probability that it is associated with terrorists. It was not specifically the Boston Marathon that was attacked, it was the 'Patriot's Day' holiday specific to the Boston area.

It is indeed a tragedy for all who were there, those who were killed, those who were injured and even for those who were just there and witnessed it.
My sympathy for all involved, except of course those who did it.
Whatever the reason and whoever it was is certainly not yet clear, so there is no point in conjecture, there are enough stupid conspiracy theories flying around all ready.
Whatever the reason, whoever they are, they are idiots, criminal idiots but idiots all the same as these attacks never gain anything for the perpetrators, just gaining more hate for whatever cause they think they are supporting.

Well said, Nev. Just got home from work and haven't looked at anything pertaining to this yet but the last I saw, while believed to be terrorists, that was not a confirmed fact. Also, even if it was a terrorist attack it would not yet be known if it was an actual group or an individual acting alone.

The following only deals with terrorist attacks. Attacks by individual 'sickos' are just that, an action done by a sick person. What gets me about these things, regardless of the targeted country, is the actual targets that are selected. Just going by the targets I consider these people cowards. I actually have no issue with a group or country deciding to go to war against the U.S., or any other country, if they believe that they have cause. But, if you are going to declare war, hit military targets. The 8 year old kid that was killed had nothing to do with any issue they may have. I can't honestly say that I have knowledge of the feelings of the populace of other countries that are hit but I can say that in the U.S. it just solidifies our 'resistance' to anything that they may actually have to say.

The latest news as at this time of 21-45 on Wednesday, there were earlier reports that there had been an arrest, however USA authorities now deny this and say no one has yet been arrested.
The general view also is that the attack or attacks are local and the work of a loner or at most no more than two or three nut cases rather than any organised group.

Most of which is still only conjecture as any leads or other information is as yet not public.
