    To expound on IJAC's reply, the BIOS is a chip on the computer's main board. It's not part of the hard drive.

    When you clone your hard drive, the Windows operating system, your Windows settings, your programs and files are cloned to the new hard drive/SSD. BIOS setting are not on the hard drive, hence they are not backed up.

    Some boards offer a feature to backup your BIOS settings. I find it's easiest to write down the settings or take a photo of the screens so I know where things were before making changes.
