@ Plastic Nev: Not sure that I understand how resetting the CMOS is going to affect the dual boot menu set up by Windows???

@ BCer: I understand the situation. Even though the one OS is gone its entry is still in the boot loader. Boot once and let it sit. If the existing OS is in fact set as the default it should start to load after 30 seconds. If it fails to load then the default is set to the OS that is no longer there. You would use VistaBootPro to remove the entry for the nonexistant OS... or just set the time to display in advanced under System in the Control Panel to zero or one. Either of these options would be done AFTER it is confirmed that the correct listing is set to default.

Hi BCer. There is a simple solution to your booting issue and it's free.
The Boot Manager program is called EasyBCD and I have used it for some years.
    Here
    http://www.softpedia...s/EasyBCD.shtml

I have a number of computers some running Dual Boot and some Triple Boot.
EasyBCD takes a couple of minutes to configure and quite easy.

What is good about this program is that it works flawlessly.
Even if for some reason the OS or partition is not listed you name the OS and the partition eg F partition
and EasyBCD will autmatically add this OS to the boot edit page.
Then its a matter of easily moving the desired OS to the top and adding a Tick.
    Very simple.

If you decide to try EasyBCD then we will be happy to help you configure correctly.

Hi DSTM... Not only is the OS not there any more... The Partition does not exist any more... Does that complicate what you have suggested..?

EasyBCD is VERY good and more current. I've been using VistaBootPro for so long that I tend to forget about EasyBCD. Go with EasyBCD as it will not give you the complaint about not finding Windows Vista. Actually, if I remember correctly, both were started by the same people and then they split into two different groups.
