    The more I looked, the more and more I hoped surely it can't be real - but obviously it is - yuck and eek!!! I didn't like rats before and like them less now - shiver!

    Makes me wonder if in fact it was an escaped pet now you mention it. Though why folks want to keep rodents as pets is beyond me when you consider they leak wherever they go.

    I once had a white Whistar rat as a pet. Took it home from a Psych lab when we found out the euthanized the rats at the end of the labs. Trained him to ring a bell when he was hungry and loved to watch him build a nest by crumpling up old newspaper. One day I came home and found the rat chewing on the wall down low and my GSD puppy chewing in unison on the upper section of the same wall. They had great team spirit!
