I got a Nasty in a zip File. I have removed it.

    It disabled my AV.

I completely removed Alvira and reinstall fully again, but keep getting this Popup.

I downloaded the .dll and it wouldnt install in System32,so as I said redownloaded Avira and installed but can't run.

    Any help appreciated.

Did you open the zip file? Have you tried a system restore to a prior date? How did you uninstall avira? Have you tried using Revo uninstaller before reinstalling?

I know, all questions no answers?

    Yes I unzipped to Folder.

I deleted all previous restore points in case it was hidden there.

I used Revo to uninstall Avira, then used "Everything" to double check.

    It was a WIN32 Trojan.

I downloaded Avira fresh and installed and still the POPUP.

MSE first scan found it,but couldnt locate it. Strange.

Running Malwarebytes and MSE  again now.

Let us know what the scans say, I have a fear that once you extracted it, it did its ugly deed and you may need some malware removal.

    I am fearing the same.Barry.

Twice I installed Avast5 and my emails stop.

They all go to Web mail.

Will reply after scans finished, Thanks.

Update. MSE found the Win32 Trojan and quaranteened it.

    Malwarebytes found nothing after.

Running CHKDSK just now in the hope it fixes any problems. :(

Hello Doug. Please get yourself a quick analysis just in case. It is better to be safe than sorry. :)

By the way, next time try enabling the option that prevents the unauthorized termination of Avira. It does take up more resources but is beneficial in the long term.

    Hope that helps. :)

Thanks Goku. I wasn't aware one could do that.

I went to ddl Files.com for MSVCP90. and now read at the bottom of the page,it's a con.

What I downloaded was  MSVCR90  without checking.

MSVCP90,dll belongs to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2008,so I am learning the hard way.

Alvira needs MSVCP90 .dll or it wont work.

Got myself into a real mess here, but will sort.

I will have to find the .dll I installed into System32 and delete.

If I uninstall Microsoft Visual C++and reinstall again, will that fix my probem? Thanks

    Hi Dougie,

Did you register the dll file after you installed it?

    Click Start and select Run.

    Type CMD and press Enter

    Type regsvr32msvcp90.dll and press Enter.

In a few seconds you should hear a little "ding" and a pop-up will verify that
you have successfully registered the dll file (msvcp90.dll)

I have decided to reinstall the OS. The registry is damaged,

and many .dlls missing,so figure fresh install best,in this case.

    Thanks for everyone's help. :)
