    I have win7 64Bit and an i3 CPU.

I open Device Manager and clicl Audio Sound.
    And the Drop down says

    HD Audio Device.
    and
    Intel R Display Audio.

But how do I know from this what my Audio Driver Name is?

Because I want to open it up and Find the Microphone Slider.

Because if I click my Speaker in my System Tray only Aplication Slider and Internale Slider and Master Slider.

But no Slider for my Microphone?

Are you sure your computer actually has a microphone?

Could you give us the make and model of your computer please?

Is this the system you are asking about?

Have you tried the audio ports in the back to see if they work? If the back ones work then there is an issue with the front ones. Are you using the correct microphone for your system. Some are being made for all in one plug that some system have in them now.

Did you install the software for the sound card that is on the system? Was this the proper software since the driver disk are universal driver disk.

When you select the speaker and the volume control come up is the word Mixer there?

Click that and does it look like this one?

    Mic.png

From here click the Mic picture.

    Mic Level.PNG

Select the Levels Tab. Here is where the mic gain can be increased.

I have an Exturmnale Mic and yes the Audio Mixer opens and looks like the photo you put up.
But there is no Microphone Slider.

But if I go into Sound Devices I see a Microphone.
And I have it selected to show Slider.

    But it never does.

Do you have the microphone plugged into the front port or the back of the tower?

OK I plug the Mic in and went to Controle Pan then Hardware and Sound.
    Then I click Sound.

In the window that opens at the Top I click Record.

I do not know why but Two Microphones come up in the list for Recording Devices.

I Click on my Microphone to go to the next screen.

And at the Top of this I click Level Tab.

Now my Mic Slider is all the way up.

But I put my Mic Boost slider all the way up.

    And yes it works.

Audacity Records my Voice very well.

But I can not get my Mic Slider to show in my Sound Mixer with the other Sliders why?

Post a screen shot please this way we can make sure we are all on the same page.

You may need to post several of them. For each screen.
