I've found that when browsing youtube here and there (sometimes with Minecraft open in the background) That my Video Driver will crash by flashing black a few times, recover (with all youtube screens green) and then if i attempt to either: Refresh youtube, Open a new youtube, Close and open minecraft, My computer will crash, and say that atikmpag.sys is the cause.

I've also found that two other files explain the problem a bit:

    C:\Windows\Minidump\032112-31403-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-47143-0.sysdata.xml

This has occured quite often, and it is now becoming a burden.

I did a bit more exploration on the file 032112-31403-01.dmp with the program WinDbg, here are the results of the search:

Also, Please note that i have done a full error-checking as well by using the option in the C drive and in the sub-catagory "tools".

It seemed to help for a small bit temporarily, but the BSODs have not stopped.

I think that your problem is either heat related or an issue with your graphics card, maybe even both. So for a start, I would suggest downloading Speccy which is a handy little free program that amongst other things will tell you the operating temperatures of the main component parts of your computer.

Click on the link below and then near the top righthand corner click "Download latest version".

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_speccy/

Please report back here your operating temperatures. (A screen grab of the Speccy window would be good)

In addition to the above can you give us more details about your computer.
    1. Desktop or Laptop?
    2. Which graphics card do you have installed and are the latest drivers installed for that card?
    3. Has your computer had the dust and cobwebs blown out/cleaned recently?
    4. Have you or another non professional removed and reseated the CPU recently? (Does it have the correct thermal paste applied?)

Edit: When running Speccy, please do so both with the computer under load (Run a game or something), and also just on tickover (No programs running)

Although your temps are maybe a little high on tickover, they appear to be normal when under load. We must remember that laptop temperatures are usually higher than desktop computers. I would suggest however purchasing a can of compressed air from your local computer store. And blowing the vents out. It should be noted that in some cases, it becomes necessary for the laptop to be dismantled and cleaned. This is best done by an experienced technician.

With regard to your graphics drivers, I would also suggest that you visit your laptop manufacturers support pages and download and install whatever they say is the latest driver. If you can give us the make and model of your computer, either myself or another staff member here can help you find the correct link for a download.

I assume that when using your laptop you are using it on a hard surface and not on your lap or some other soft surface. Despite their name, laptop vents can be blocked when on soft surfaces. So your lap is not a good place to use the computer! If you do not have a cooling stand, then try raising the back of the machine with a couple of drinks coasters or something like that. This promotes air circulation under the laptop, and will help it run cooler.

I have to leave my computer now, but will be back later today should you need more help.

alright, i've got a can of compressed air, and ill look into using it soon.

thanks for the cleaning tips too, btw.

When using my laptop i use a special Seating area with 2 slide out mouse coasters to prevent it from touching anything, its a nice cooling stand, because exactly as you said, Lap-top is a bad misnomer, and shouldent be on laps.

now i would say that my computer is a Sony E-series With I5 core,AMD Radeon HD 6470M graphics, windows 7, model number VPCCB.

Thankyou for the model information Elementis. The letters VPCCB are only part of the model details. Listed below are all of the possible models that your laptop could be. Please select the correct one and post back.

Okay, so this morning i gave my computer a serious cleaning with a can of compressed air, and downloaded the new driver, restarted my computer, and for a small test run, i opened up 6 youtube pages and 2 instantces of minecraft.

    EVERYTHING WORKED FINE! :D

    no driver crashes, no bluescreens.

and usually thats a surefire way to get one.

Thank you very much four your help, PSEfrank! :D

Edit: I also checked out speecy for some details, almost everything is now in the 50-52s, except for the harddrive which is now in the 32's.

    BCP3: 0000000000000000
    BCP4: 0000000000000002
    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 768_1
Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\032812-26551-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-58874-0.sysdata.xml

If you take a look at what files describe the problem, there's a completely new error stemming from diffrent files, but the same Atikmpag.sys is being affected.

It seems that youtube is a major cause of this, somehow, and that having 2 youtube windows playing at the same time activates this crash.

I have done testing on that situation, and it seems that it would be the problem.

    How would i fix this?

Do your temps spike up before the BSOD's?, like around 80-90c mark or are the temps less than or around 60-70c (preferably nearer 60) when playing youtube videos now.
I know you mentioned 50s in your previous post but I would expect those to be idle(ish) temps.

The error as you say indicates your video driver, the actual error code (0x116) describes this 'The VIDEO_TDR_ ERROR bug check has a value of 0x00000116. This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.'
Now while the error might describe the display driver as failing to reset, it could be hiding a failing graphics card, since the computer doesn't know any better, but that would be a worst case scenario.

I'd suggest either getting the whole thing took apart to reapply the thermal paste to the CPU and GPU to fully rule out any temperature issue, I've done it to a few laptops and it can be quite a challenge so do take it to someone who could/willing to disassemble it or a local repair shop (shouldn't cost too much, cost me £30 once to have a BIOS battery replaced which needed the laptop disassembling fully) if you don't want to go tinkering about.

You should also do some virus scans and check for Windows updates as well, probably before going to disassemble the laptop.

ill do some digging around with the temp rising, but i dont seem to notice any visual signs of rising heat before a BSOD.

i really hope my graphics card isnt failing.

Checked Speecy after a video card driver fail, no increase in temp. Manually BSOD'd the computer by refreshing the crashed youtube page as usual.

    No updates are avalible.

    Did you check for viruses?

When you installed the new driver did you uninstall the previous one, if you didn't I would retry that once more.

Firstly download the video driver from the link PseFrank posted above, download and install DriverSweeper from this link - http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

Then uninstall the video driver from the computer with Driver Sweeper, once complete install the video driver you downloaded from the Sony site and hopefully once restarted it should be working better, as installing over the top of a possible bad driver sometimes doesn't get rid of the problem.
