[Solved] Asus P8Z77-V PRO red CPU light

I'm getting a full refund from amazon, so I'm searching for a new board, do you know of any cheaper than the one I have will all the same features, my cpu is a socket 1155

Well hold on a minute, you are right the board seems quite a good one, but one of the things I don't do is buy the same board again because undoubtedly they have a lot of them and I have had it where usually the whole batch is bad. When they reissue the same board over and over again, you do run that risk because online merchants buy big lots and the inspect nothing. Better be safe than sorry.Let me see if I can find a similar featured board from someone es;le like Gigabyte.

I can't see it in the specs but does the gigabyte board have built in wifi or would I need to but a wifi card

 

I missed that on your board but I think only Asus offers that. I don't see it on Gigabyte boards.

 

I'll look into getting the gigabyte board and buy a wifi card

That has wifi but only 2 ram slotys lets look further

 

You know what everything I have read tells me that built in wifi is rather "iffy" on motherboards, why not just get an addon card and be done with it. I don't see any other board with built in wifi that doesn't have but 2 ram slots and that is so limiting. Amazon has the Gigabyte board I listed.

The board you have from eBuyer is the same family of boards and looks fine to me.

 

All motherboard manufactures have a percentage of failures including Gigabyte.
You only hear about the failures not those running sweetly for years.
I have had motherboards dead out of the packet,SO, they are covered by warranty.
That board is a good board for the money.
I have used most brands and now prefer Asus to any other board.
Yes I have had a Gigabyte board fail under warranty.
Doesn't matter what hardware part you buy a percentage will be lemons.

 

Dougie I agree with you completely my problem is when you find one bad board, you most likely find a whole bunch of bad ones
and I am trying to save him time as we both know nobody inspects anything anymore so whatever he gets as a replacement will most likely be bad also, that was my only point. We could argue Asus vs
Gigabyte all day long as I can count on one hand all the good Asus boards I have had in the last 5 years, but that isn't the issue.
