AntiVirus Nightmare-!

    Bad Bad AVG>>>>!!! Have the 8.0 paid version, it attempts to connect at startup causing my system to lock up often, there is no window/internal device to override their invasion, HOW CAN I RID MYSELF IF THIS UNAUTHORIZED DIALUP ATTEMPT??

    Tech support has proved futile (no reply).

    Who can suggest an alternative antivirus program for XP, VERY slow connection speeds (45 k is top speed), not too hard on resources? This in case no one out there can find some way for me to disable this invasive feature.

    It wasn't present in May, but suddenly..............automatic dialup!! Anyone??? Thanks so much!

    I use Eset NOD32. Uses little resources and update downloads are small in size.

    Start your computer in Safemode (F8 while booting up) and then change your avg settings or uninstall it and run NOD32 as mentioned above.
