This is a general question and I am on XP but it is about Amazon.com. Didnt know where else to post it. I have always found ordering from Amazon easy, quick, and satisfactory. Now it is much harder. Pages come up slow or just stop loading, no phone or email contact numbers I can find to report, an item is now stuck in my cart and I cannot get the view cart page to come up or any way that works to edit or remove item from cart. I want to order an item but first must clear cart and am afraid to go to checkout in case no way to remove item or in case it gets ordered anyway. Seems I can add items from 1 to 10+ on dropdown but not zero out cart.
Has site changed and I just dont know how to work it, or has it just become more unfriendly. I wondered if anyone else who orders a lot from Amazon has had this trouble and knows how I should solve it. Maybe just too much traffic? If I shut down website, connection, or PC I still have the already previously ordered item still in the cart. If anyone knows what to do I would appreciate knowing. If not, I had to try. Thanks.

Amazon had done some changes to their website, BGBG, you are not wrong. However, I'm not experiencing any slowness to load pages. When you click on Check Out, (you have to do that in order to see the Edit) you will see in the upper right hand corner it will say, Edit Your Cart. Just select that and you can remove whatever you don't want any more.

Thank you Cindy. It IS working better now after I deleted cookies and Temp Internet files and restarted a few times, and walked away. When I returned it seemed to be working normally. I dont believe it is my fault at all. Thank for the tip-it gives me confidence and help. This issue solved if there ever was one and can be removed if you like. BGBG

AND , I found the right forum to post things like this. Just didnt go down the page far enough. Order succeeded. Easily and quickly. PCs can be frustrating.

I glad that you have it straightened out, BG. It can be very frustrating when you can't see a way to remove something from the cart. I only found it accidently.

Frustrating isn't the word BG...in fact I am not quite sure what the appropriate word is. though it would probably be "blipped out" here anyway.

Although they may have changed a bit on the website, Amazon are still very reliable when you do need something from the few times I have bought stuff on line from them.

I normally try to buy locally first and support the local retailers, however there are the times you just cannot get exactly what you want or need.

I was paying over $100 a month for cable TV and a land line, I watched only 2 shows. I bought a T-Moble prepaid phone for about $8 a month and invested the saved money in movies that I know I like. I have all of NCIS, Stargate, Star Wars, Jessie Stone and some older movies like Mrs. Miniver and Blossoms in the Dust. I have over 400 now, most for $5. I am really into Fantasy movies now.

If you averaged $5 for each of those 400 movies, you would have spent $2000 for them. You might consider something like Netflix which has 2 services, one is a streaming service that lets you stream movies or TV shows on demand. The other service lets you checkout 2-3 disks at a time, watch them at your leisure then return them and get 3 more. It's all done by mail.

Amazon Prime costs $99/yr and lets you stream movies and TV Shows.

There are other services as well that do streaming. You also can find older movies and TV shows on YouTube to watch or check out the internet archive at: https://archive.org/

I didn't do it to save money. My neighbor does netflex and it cost her far more than $10 or whatever the charge is. She pays almost $60 some for high speed internet a month to play those movies. She also pays for something else also. I pay $28 for my internet. I want to keep my movies and watch them over and over. I usually buy movies that I have already seen because I know I will like them.

Check out the internet archive. They have (according to them) 18,265 movies that you could download to your computer and watch over and over. It certainly wouldn't hurt you to take a look. In addition to movies, they also have books, music and images in the archive.

I have almost 800 movies in my movie collection and there are still times when I'm not in the mood to watch something I've seen bunches of times so I like to constantly look for sources of new (to me) movies for me to watch.

Srollin, I have a bit to go to catch up with you. I don't buy many books anymore, like movies I enjoy them again and again. I did buy some of the books new, but most were from Goodwill and like new for $1 or $2. Nothing picks me up like good books and movies. I have 26 books that are a series about women vigilantes. The author planned to write 7 and the fans would not let her stop. I read books, watch movies and work Jigsaw puzzles and of course play with the computer. Arthritis is finally starting to cause me problems and it gets me down emotionally and put a stop to my traveling. So I try to do things that take my mind off of the discomfort. I saw somewhere that they are making another Wolverine movie, so looking forward to that.

I buy a lot of movies used on Amazon as I like to collect the good ones. I owned a video store years ago so I have at least 1000 Vcr tapes and probably 500 dvd's as well now. After a while its easy to spot what I want to buy and own. Sometimes my best ways to pass are look at the Academy Awards and walk away from 75% of those.

I had my VCR tapes converted to DVD, but there were 2 that couldn't be converted. I eventually found one, but The Lost Son with Gabriella Anwar is still not available.

I just found it there but it is in spanish. I will keep watching for it. I have been looking for it for a couple of years and they have never had it on DVD, only VCR. I was also looking for The Color of Friendship and it was finally released about a year ago and I bought it.
