    Hi Abi,

Let's get the latest version of Adobe and see if that helps.
You should have the latest version anyway.

Download the latest version from Here
You may have to select your operating system.
Untick the following if given the choice:
Free McAfee® Security Scan Plus (optional)
    Free Google Toolbar (optional)

then follow the instructions to install it.

    Hi Abi,

After looking into this a bit more, it seems a lot of people have had this problem.
    Try this fix:
Instructions for running it are on the page.

File Association Fixes for Windows 7
    LNK File Association Fix
after reading the instructions, click on the LNK icon in the main square.

When trying this when I get to the merge stage it says:
Cannot import c:\users\Abigail\Desktop\lnk_fix_w7.reg:Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some Keys are open by system or other processes.

    Mmm ok,
this is the problem we have with 64 bit systems .... a lot of things still don't work correctly.

I'm not sure if this program will run on a 64 bit system, but feel free to try.

    Download SREng

    • Extract it to Desktop and double click SREngLdr.EXE to run it
    • Select System Repair from the left pane.
    • Click on File Association
    • Select all entries that has an Error status click [Repair]
    • Refer to this image for an example:

    • Close SREng now.

Let me know how it goes, i'm intrigued to find out the results.

    Thanks

Is actually throwing up any errors?

Have just checked, it may not run correctly on a 64 bit system.
I'll look further into this and get back to you.

    Mmm that's odd.
What we are looking to fix is the LNK.
Oh well, i'll have to look deeper then.
