I un-installed Adobe Flash Player as you suggested.
Can you now tell me the best site to re-install Adobe Flash Player and how long does it normally take for the Download.
    Thank you.

Download it directly from Adobe: http://www.adobe.com/

Click on Download and then in the drop down menu, select Adobe Flash Player.

    Should take about two minutes.

You must first scan the document using the built in scanner, save it to a location where you can find it easily and then (after renaming if you wish) simply attach it as a file or photo as you would any email attachment.

After I clicked on Scan Document 4 choices came up: Document to TIF File, Document to PDF File, Document to Printer and Document to Tile. Could you tell me which one I should choose? Thanks.

If it's a document click PDF in the File Type drop-down.

    Click Save

You will need a reader to view the document. Adobe reader is a popular choice.
    I use Foxit Reader myself.

Thanks DSTM, my fault for not menioning the format. If you wish to view it as is then you can also scan it as a photo using jpeg or other formats and it will come up looking exactly like the newspaper obit if that is what you are copying.

I clicked "Document to PDF File." I clicked Scan. I clicked Save To File. "Save Options" came up. I didn't know what to do then so I stopped.

Hi. Under "Save Options" you choose where to save the File. Normally "My Documents".

Sometimes there can be two different "My Documents" folders with the second one somewhere different from where you may expect it to be, go to search and type in My Documents. Windows will search the system for you and if there are two instances of My Documents it should show you both and where they are. Your scan may just be in the odd one.

I searched "My Documents" and clicked on "Scans" which was empty. I then clicked on "My Documents" which was empty. I then clicked on a second "My Documents" and that also was empty. Should I just give up or have you another idea.

Hi, for some reason it looks like it didn't go anywhere. I can only suggest trying another scan, I assume this is a newspaper clipping and if so some newspaper fonts are not recognised correctly, hence why perhaps there was no file to find.

So bearing that in mind, on the next scan, instead of selecting PDF or document. Right from the start select "Scan Picture or Photograph" It may ask after that which format for the picture, so choose JPG or jpg as the simplest one.

The file should then be saved in your pictures or photograph folder as a picture.
It should then be possible to send in an E Mail as a picture or as an attachment.

I did as you suggested...I clicked on Picture To File. I then clicked Scan. I then clicked OK. Jpeg Image appeared on File Type. I then clicked OK. I then went to My Pictures but it was not there. I think I will just mail it using the U.S. Postal Service because I know how to use that. Thanks for all your help.

Hi, Myself and DSTM have now searched for an answer and found you are not on your own with your HP all in one, many people complaining that a scan of anything is not creating a file of any sort.

We did find an instructions page which may help you or have some useful information here :-

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03476857#N915

If that is of no help, hopefully HP may issue a fix at some time in the future.
May be worth sending HP a complaint letter or at least E Mail.

Again, I want to thank you both for all your help. Now knowing others have had the same problem makes me feel just a little better knowing it was not just me. I viewed the info page you provided and I will indeed send an email to HP but doubt very much if it will do any good.
