So I've added a new Graphics card (GEFORCE GT610). When I log onto Windows I get a message about the ATI Catalyst driver... I'll have to see what the exacting wording was but basically saying that it wouldn't work with the driver? Anyways I tried unistalling the ATI Catalyst and the message is still popping up does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

As well as adding a new graphics card i added a second monitor. On the second monitor mostly i am getting mouse lag issues where it pauses at a certain location and then will keep moving. I'm guess this is because of the new graphics card but not sure.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi and welcome to Computer Help Forums.
This is the NVIDIA drivers for that graphics card.

Thanks DSTM. Tried istalling the drivers from the CD but I'm guessing this would be better because of the updates?

So just downloaded the drivers off their site and I'm still having both issues. To be more specific on the Warning message I'm getting it says "The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the Displays Manager."

Do I need to do this? If so where is the darn Displays Manager located.

Is the graphics card being recognized in Device Manager. Any yellow or red icons visible?

Is anyone else confused by his error? nvidia cards don't use the catalyst control center - that's an ATI thing. I think the issue is that he has the drivers from a previous GPU installed, and it's trying to take over the card he's got.

Hawkeye, did you uninstall CCC through the program or through the windows uninstaller service? Sometimes windows will miss some important pieces that allow programs to kinda sorta continue to run. If you used windows, try reinstalling CCC and looking for an option to have the program uninstall itself - that should get rid of your "card not recognized" issues. Once you do that, reinstall the nvidia drivers, and things might work a little better.

Also, is your monitor plugged in to the video card you just installed, or is it plugged in to the motherboard? The video card port will most likely be closer to the bottom of the computer, whereas the motherboard video card port will be up nestled in with all your USB ports and such.

From the sounds of it, as the driver has been uninstalled something must have remained. (not all programs uninstalled completely remove everything, you can still get remnants left over, especially in startup)

    The proper uninstallation procedure is:-
Download the new driver and save it to desktop
Uninstall the old display driver through add/remove programs, (the reason I have underlined display driver is that some motherboards use ATI and Geforce chipsets that include NIC and onboard graphics and if you uninstall these then you can run into issues)
Go to C:/ programs and then ATI or Nvidia depending on the current card and delete any files within this folder (again if you have an ATI or Geforce chipset be carefull what you do remove)
    restart the PC
load the driver from the desktop and when it completes restart
