A freind sent me this vid and I hope you enjoy it. Holland and Canada have a very special bond, because the Canadian first army liberated holland during the second world war.

    Enjoy: Rich

Glad you enjoyed it Doughie. The Dutch are woderful people, but they suffered a lot during World War 2 and the Nazi occupation. Thousands and thousands of civilians died due to malnutrion and starvation. Before they were liberated, they were living off tulip bulbs. The Nazis grabbed all the food for their troops and left those poor people to starve. My uncle was in the Calgary tank corps and he fought all through Holland to liberate those people. It is a beautiful country and better than 20 % is below sea level. The saying goes God created the world, but, the Dutch created Holland. They built dikes and reclaimed the land from the north sea.

OK, a long time ago of around some thirty or more years ago I travelled through Holland on the way to somewhere else and thought at the time what a boring flat place it is. That video showed me that after all this time I was wrong to judge on a short journey in a coach. Thanks for that Rich.

You are welcome Nev and glad you enjoyed it. I was in Holland once, with the Navy, we put into Rotterdam and I had a 3 day shore leave. It is a huge port and the people were wonderful. The Dutch love Canadians and always will because of what we did for them during world war 2
