See, this is where I do think that people like that deserve harsh punishment - im talking pulling their finger nails out with pliers and so forth.
Not locked up in Jail for 20 years and get out after 10 for good behaviour.

If someone is prepared to take a life they should be willing to forefeit their own!

Oh dod. I couldn't finish reading the article because it made me sick at heart but I completely agree.

Anyone who is capable of doing something like this is not 'human' and doesn't deserve a cell in prison with 'we mean well' people trying to rehab him/her.'

We don't even have a death sentence here in Canada so the worse the happens to criminals like this is 'life' in prison. And 'life' in prison here is far from a life sentence.

Perhaps the Japanese had it right - 'the death of a thousand cuts'.

Do realize shrinks everywhere maintain that the threat of death does not lower the murder rates ... but I can't help but think they are wrong, so so wrong in cases like this.

For vicious crimes like this,The killer or killers deserve the same mercy shown to their Victims.
I would put them out of their misery, real fast, and save the Tax Payer, paying for his,or their upkeep, for the next 20 yrs,or more.
In the US one can stay on death row for years.Too lenient.IMO.
In most Arab Countries, once convicted, you may only have hours to live.
Here in OZ,the average Life Sentance is about 10-12 Yrs,with good behaviour.
They all find God,in Prison, which is a load of garbage,in most cases.
They get out, and a big percentage here, are repeat offenders.
Too many do gooders here, that say most can respond to Rehab.Yeah Right!!!

EDIT Fifty years ago there was always a chance the wrong person could go to Prison wrongfully.
Today with modern Forensics, those chances are very slim.

I agree - why should someone who commits horrific crimes be allowed to live.

I must admit though that there must be a 'without a shadow of a doubt' approach.
Imagine hanging someone like used to happen back in the day only to find they were innocent 30 years later.

Its like witches back in the day - did any of them ever float, I would find it hard to float with concrete boots on too

    And therein lies the 'rub'.

But I'll use Robert Picton, a pig farmer over here. There is no doubt he killed many, many young woman over a number of years- apparently fed some to his pigs (and yes, he gave free pork to friends), buried others, etc.

He will live on in our prison system - and on and on and on. Rabid dogs are killed - perhaps rabid people should cause the death penalty to be brought back for certain cases.
