Hey guys, some may have read my other thread which pretty much is me getting details about a new computer. Anyway, the point is I was wondering which of these cards is better for GAMING - I have little interest in video encoding or anything like that :| and I've been looking at benchmarks and the 2500k is performing very very very close to the 2600k, Plus its $100 less..

    Opinions :D

    Thanks!!!!!

    Operating System:
    Windows 7
    Computer Brand or Motherboard:
ASUS - are there any others worth buying?
    CPU:
Q6600 at 4.0Ghz per core (Watercooled)
    Memory:
    OCZ PC8500 4x1GB sticks
    Hard Drive:
    Samsung - all the way
    Graphics Card:
    XFX 260GTX rev 1
    Power Supply:
    Seasonic 600Watt
    The main differences is that:-
The 2500K has 4 cores and 4 threads (no hyperthreading) and 6MB of cache
The 2600K has 4 cores and 8 threads (hyperthreading) and 8MB of cache

All boils down to if you need hyperthreading..... and to give you an idea of programs that use it they are often the intensive ones like video decoding etc
Hyperthreading has been known in the past to 'hurt' FPS on some games...

So based on that give us your ideas
