Is there a simple free YouTube downloader? I have AllFree Youtube Downloader 8.7.2 and it tries to download and it says Successed 0 and does not download video. I did not update because the new version looks very complicated and all I want is a simple program to enter the address and download the file like before. Is there a simple program that will work to do this or am I stuck with learning the complicated one? I have these in my program folder but did not try them all. See attached.
Before I would just copy/paste the URL into the program and click to download. Now there is a very complex interface that I do not wish to get involved with.

How about a suggestion for those of us who don't run Windows 10?

I went to the site and it says system requirements are windows 10. I have windows 7. Would it work? I tried this one in emergency and it seemsed to work without too much intellect applied..Maybe it it the one you mention??? It worked the way it came but I checked to run in W7 compatibility. Just needed and You Tube download right quick.

Cindy, would you have an old version archived?

I've been using an addon Download YouTube Videos as mp4 in Firefox ESR and Palemoon but FF will be using the new addon method when I need to update at the end of August so there goes what currently works fine.

    I think I found one
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/easy-youtube-video-download/

I'm running v 59 portable of FF. I fired it up and installed it. After about a week of use, I'll report back if I'm happy with it.

My husband is on the Zoning Board and he wanted a download from YouTube of an old meeting on his laptop so he could refer to it during a meeting.

I downloaded an orchid re-potting video yesterday.
The new addon seems to work as well, in fact, better than my current one.
There are more choices in the newer addon. I can download just the audio, if I want.
Currently I have to download audio and video then use a small portable program to extract the audio. This newer addon saves me a few steps.

Where is the orchid re-potting video? I would like to see it if you have the URL. Thanks.

I didn't save it but I'll go hunting.
    Here's one
    Code:

I watch a lot of her videos. Currently 3 of my 4 orchids are blooming.

That is what I have now...4 phalaenopsis that are in bloom and need re-potting.
And by the way, the YTDL is working fine on the Windows 7 Dell and is easier to use that the update of the one I was using. Thanks, Cindy. Mine is v5.9.7

I found a Part 2 of the orchid video and some other orchid videos and they download well once I learned to copy/paste the whole URL and not just the "watch..." part of it.

Cindy, I tried your suggestion for a program last night because I wanted to download an old Astaire-Rogers movie which was on Dailymotion. I was using savefrom net but it was very, very slow. At least the free YTD Video downloader was a bit faster.

I downloaded part 1 using savefrom net and part 2 on a different computer using YTD Video Downloader and compared the download speeds. YTD Video Downloader was the better choice when downloading from Dailymotion.

    THANKS.

    You're welcome, Liz!
I've been using YTD for many years.
Dougie recommended it back in 2010.
