I have an HP notebook with Vista Home Premium and I just got an
recommended update popup, pushing this: "Sonix - Streaming Media and
    Broadcast - YooStar Camera."
What is this about? I've heard that some previous Sonix updates to HP
laptops caused problems with the built-in web cam. Will this be another
    one like that?

  2. Who can say? If the offer for an update came from Windows Update/Microsoft
Update you would be better off declining it and downloading an update direct
from the manufacturer. If the offer for the update comes through the HP
update service then contact HP for assistance. Otherwise contact whomever
the pop-up specifies as the source for the software.

It's a Windows update from Microsoft and marked as important. I declined
it so far but it keeps bugging me every time I boot up. Is there any way
to permanently decline it, so it won't keep popping up?

  4. Right-click the update and hide it.
