I wonder when I see and read things like this about .....

the fact that the earth is spinning,

so over such a distance, 512 meters the top of the tower has to be moving slightly faster than the Bottom.

which raises all sorts of questions like, do you weigh less slightly less at the top than the bottom due to centrifugal force?

As there is evidence that speed affects local time (slows it) do you have to keep resetting the clocks on the top floor?

or should I be worried that these questions come to mind and should I be on my way to my nearist shrink?

Imagine the Wind Shear, on a structure this height.
I think it's more about, who can build the tallest Structure.
Till one come crashing down, with huge loss of life.
Plenty of vacant land in Dubai, and to me it's stupidity.
There's talk of it reaching a Kilometer in Height.
    That's 3280 Feet High.

If I remember correctly, a man literally lives at the top while it's being built - granted labour is likely cheap there but hope he's getting a huge bonus. I agree with you, Dougie ... why they want to build something this high must have a great deal to do with ego ... but why anyone would want to live that high? - eep!

Shouldn't worry that you need to be heading off to a "shrink" anytime soon, Match ... rather, I suspect the average person would weight slightly less at the top - simply because most of us would be loosing weight/fluid from upchucking. :D

Soaring 818 meters (2,684 feet) the Burj Dubai in the United Arab Emirates claims to be the world's tallest building. But the Burj Dubai is still under construction, and statistics include the skyscraper's enormous spire.

It depends on who does the measuring! Skyscraper buffs disagree on whether features like flagpoles, antennas, and spires should be included when measuring building height.

Also under dispute is the question of what, exactly, constitutes a building. Technically, observation towers and communications towers are considered structures, not buildings, because they are not habitable. They do not have residential or office space.

    So....

If you count only habitable space and measure from the sidewalk level of the main entrance to the structural top of building (excluding flagpoles and spires), then Chicago's Sears Tower, built in 1974, may still be the tallest building in the world. Height: 442 meters / 1,450 feet.

    But....

Now, supposing we included spires, flagpoles, and antennas when measuring building heights. In that case, it might not make sense to distinguish between buildings and towers when ranking building heights. If we rank all man-made structures, whether or not they contain habitable space, then the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada ranks near the top. Measuring 553.33 meters (1,815 ft., 5 inches) tall, the CN Tower is surpassed by only the Burj Dubai.

Seeing as the Burj Dubai isn't fully built yet the CN Tower is the tallest building if including the structures. Now whether or not you choose to jump off of one of these to your demise is purely up to you! :D

Wonder how they get over the problems with people, with sensitive ears, going down the lifts so fast.
Every time I land in a Jumbo,my ears hurt badly.Imagine going straight down,at speed. No thanks.:)
