Hi, I am currently having a strange issue with connectivity.
This is the hardware that I am using:
    Motherboard - MSI 970A-G46
Wireless adapter card - ASUS PCE-N15
USB Wireless adapter - ROSEWILL RNX-N180UBE
Computer Case - MSI Raptor IN-9410

I have a basic internet plan in which I am suppose to receive 10 mbps. Using the wireless adapter card connected directly to my motherboard, I receive less than 2.5mbps. When I plug in and use my USB Wireless adapter directly to any usb port on my motherboard, I also receive less than 2.5mbps. When I plug my usb wireless adapter to a usb port in the front on my case, I receive 11mbps. I have the latest drivers for all devices installed. I have no idea how to fix this. Can someone please help me?

Hi and welcome to the forums. :)

I would suspect that an electro-magnetic field is interfering with your wireless connection. To test this I suggest using a male to female USB extension cord to connect the USB wireless adapter to one of the rear USB ports. Move the USB wireless around to check for differences in connection.

As far as an electro-mechanical device interfering with your connection it could be something as simple as a fan on your desk. Actually it could even be your computer.

If Jay is correct it may be worthwhile changing the channel on your router.
The usual settings are 1; 6 or 11

    Also ...
I had a situation recently where my laptops were getting half the d/l speed that they should.
    Wired I got full speed.
    Un-plug the router > leave for 30 seconds > re-connect.
    This fixed mine.

I suspect that your problem will not be this simple - but it is worth a try. :)

The only reason I suspect interference is that there is such a drastic difference between the front and back USB ports, 11mbps and 2.5mbps respectively.

Hi Jay - I wasn't suggesting that your diagnosis was wrong ........although " If Jay is correct ..." could be taken that way - it certainly wasn't meant :)

Didn't think at all that you meant it that way, Ken. Actually it is me that is iffy. A difference in port speeds is hardly enough to make a solid determination, it is more of a hunch. ;)
