Alright, so I have an Acer Aspire V3 771G 9809. I have a Wireless Router that my Mother and I use for both our laptops (however shes hardly ever on it and this still occurs when she isnt).

I have a Belkin router, and the majority of time Im on the internet with my laptop, Im less than 5 feet from it. Im in the same room and within arms reach of the router. Yet I often drop Internet. Im not using anything too major, Im dropping even as I type this post. It literally does it anywhere from every couple of seconds to every couple of minutes.

I have Time Warner Cable, and my Modem (That my desktop is hardwired to) only drops once every once in awhile, its not bad. But my router? I cant sustain a connection for the life of me.

My connection drops, and 90% of the time it doesn't reconnect me, like as it's doing as Im typing this. Im disconnected, and I can go to choose to connect to my router, which it can do no problem. However, my connection will drop again shortly and this all repeats.

Any suggestions (No, I cant switch from TWC, we dont have alot of options around here)?

Hi and Welcome to Computer Help Forums

Have you tried your laptop on a public network, as found in a lot of coffee shops nowadays, the reason I ask is if the problem persists on a different network the issue is with you laptop, if its working fine on a different network then the problem is with your router.

    Do this:

Connect to the net with your mum's and your laptop.
    Leave both connected.
When yours drops out - check your mum's connection.

If your mother's laptop is still connected and yours isn't then the problem lies with your laptop.
If your mother's laptop drops the connection too then the problem lies with the router.

We can take it from here once we know what to look at.

    One more thing:
cordless phones and other devices can cause radio interference.
Your router has about 13 channels that will transmit at different frequencies.
If you know how - change the channel number.
    1 - 6 - 11 are the ones to try.
If yours is set to 6 try 11.
