Dell desktop, W7 HP x64 SP1. Trying to install KB4487121. The catalog shows this box, multiple choices, none show the original number- how do I choose the correct one?

Also- what do I need to know about "embedded standard?" Window Update screenshot.jpg

None of those are for an x64 computer. Look closely. The first item is NET 4.6 and is KB 4483470 for x86 computer. If you don't have 4.6 installed, don't download it.
2nd is KB4019990 and is for NET 3.5.1
    3rd for NET 4.5 and is KB4483474
    4th might also be NET 3.5.1 KB4483483

The last patchregfix when I downloaded and tried to install the last few times, I was told it was already installed.

You don't run embedded standard so don't download anything unless it says it is also for Win 7 64 bit.

This update was not offered on WU, it is suggested on Woody's weekly blog.

Thanks for that. I don't know what those NET numbers refer to, maybe I don't need to know. Should I assume that any updates that apply to my PC will be offered by MS?

Yes now I am not saying that you should not also double check the updates for what they do.

I have two Windows 7 systems that I have ran nothing but Critical updates only on and have never had any issues, problem with. When I did a test and started doing the optional updates then I would run into issue.

Thanks. I don't need any more things to worry about, I'll just wait for Update to offer them.
