Hello and welcome to Computer Help Forums.

I've seen where this may take up to 3 hours. Don't know why this happens sometimes. If after 3 hours, if it's still stuck, you can try holding the power button in until the machine shuts down. Hopefully, it'll recover.

I have had this issue on three occasions, and it will go into the same loop again which takes ages.
The fix which worked for me was the moment it starts "Undoing Changes" Hard shut down the computer, pressing the start button till the computer shuts down.
Then don't touch the computer for 3-4 hours.
After that time reboot and your updates will install perfect.
    It will say "Installing Updates"
Don't touch a thing till updates are installed.
It will reboot a number of times.

Is there a quicker way to do it like completely cancel the updates like safe mode or something to reset back to a few days ago?? This is taking way too long

    Z,

Do a System Restore to a date before all this & then go check for Updates after it completes.

Why would you stop the pc while doing a windows update ?
That's the best way to mess things up.

I didn't stop it from doing updates the updates wouldn't complete then the "failure confuguring updates" popped up if you read it I didn't ask how to stop it I was wondering how I could go back to the time it started updating to try and install the updates ago it's been stuck on undoing changes for hours
