Have Windows 7 laptop and Windows Photo Gallery 2012 which I often have trouble with and wondered if it needs updating and how to do that if it does. Many times I try to use it and it says "Not Responding. Don't recall how or where I got it. Anyone have any advice?

Windows Photo Gallery 2012 was part of the Windows Essentials suite.
It reached end of support on January 10, 2017, and it isn't available anymore.
Although if installed on Win 7 it should in theory still work ..... but if you encounter problems with it, there's not a lot you can do.

That likely explains why I get messages that it cannot open a picture. I use FS Capture to make a picture of what is on screen and Photo Gallery to view it. I forget how I set all that up. But I guess I may have to find an alternative program preferably a free one, to vie the FSCapture pictures I might make. I see something in my programs list called XPS Viewer. Can you suggest any free viewers I coud download as a substitute?

Also I found I have something called Free File Viewer 2014. Maybe I can find how to open all pictures from FSCapture with that?
