    Hi,

When moving graphics or photos in Windows 7 I have rt. clicked, gotten a drop down menu which enabled me to copy or move the chosen file to another folder. I don't see that in Windows 8. Am I missing something? Can it be added? I use it all the time and really miss it. I see copy, but not copy to.

    Thanks.

    Hi Patsy. Try this.

    1. Open the location that contains the file or folder you want to copy.

    2. Right-click the file or folder you want to copy, and then click Copy.

    3. Open the location where you want to store the copy.

    4. Right-click within the location, and then click Paste.
The copy of the original file or folder appears in the new location.

You can also copy a file or folder by right-clicking the file or folder and dragging it to the new location. When you release the mouse button, click Copy Here.

I run Windows 7 on two machines, neither of which has ever had a "Copy to" choice in the right click menu, it was there in Windows XP, but not W7.
In W7, I rarely copy a picture into another folder, it was and still is usually a move to, not copy to, and that is a simple drag and drop.
To do that, first open the Windows explorer page, I assume it is similar in W8, as I don't have W8.
Next is to open the folder where the picture is, then click the arrow to open the main "Pictures" on the left hand side, then just click on and hold the picture in question and drag it over to the left into the folder you want it moved to.
If you do actually want to copy to another folder, right click, choose copy, then right click on the destination folder and choose paste.

    Nev.

Thank you for your replies. I do know about "copy" and "paste", but I liked that option that I had with W7
Here is the program which made it so easy to move things. I don't know if it will work of W8 and I don't know if it is SAFE. I got malware from Classic Shell so am very careful what I download.
Does anyone know if this will work????

Thank you so very much. I did download the copy to and move to fix and I think it will work, although not as easily as in W7 because it does not have the second drop down to choose the folder where you want to place it.
Everything has to be HARDER with Windows 8. Have not found one advantage to it as yet.....in two months of trying to get it to be as good as W7!!!!
