Windows 7 Forum ? Is this a completely different and separate board from CHF?

The reason I ask is because I attempted to log in with my CHF credentials and it didn't accept them. :)

The windows7 forum is in common ownership and was linked from here since before this staff joined and the reorganization began.

We expect to be able to give give full windows7 support here. This forum suffered a major data loss some time ago. We are in major rebuilding mode and welcome you here with open arms. :geek::party:

I do not quite understand. I'm planning on having windows 7 on my bench machine and do not understand where to post questions about Windows 7. Do I have to wait until you have done your construction? Is that when you will have a Windows 7 Sub Forum? Or will I have to go to the site listed and post there once remodeling has been made?

Good question, simply post on the general windows forum for now until we break it down into sub forums for each OS. We have both staff members and members who have been with Windows7 as beta testers and should be able to handle your issues right here.

Understood. Thank you for clarifying. Quick question. Do you think I should Beta test it on my bench box or wait until the release due in October I think it is? It makes no difference if I mess up my bench box. Can always reformat.

If you have the facility to play with it without concern I would do it without question. I have seen people who like it and some who do not. What I have not seen is anyone who complained about damage done.

As we go along and as new machines start to roll out with 7 as the installed OS we will be needing more and more members who are familiar with it. So give it a try and you may be one of those members. :)

I have read lots of great things about it. Except it is not compatible with some software. Other than that IE8 was made for it and I would like to get a look at that. I don't want to install it on my XP machine.

I think I may just have a project to do today. Thank you for the advice. I can not wait to see what it is like. :D

Keep us posted on your "adventures" it may well prove helpful as more and more of us make the switch. Posting your observations should prove to be very useful to our members.

I dual booted my XP machine with Vista Ultimate and was not very happy with that. Vista wasn't cracked up to what it should have been and I am hoping that Windows 7 is a lesson learned from Vistas mistakes.

Will be sure to let you know how I like it. It's going to be put on a Dell Inspiron that I only use to mess around. Thank you again. I look forward to posting about it. :)
