One of the more praised features people like about Windows 10 is the return of the Start Menu. Although many people love the Windows 8-style tiles on the Start Menu, there are also many people who prefer a classic Windows 7 style Start Menu.

Luckily for those people, there is a solution. Stardock has retooled its application Start Menu app for Windows 10. Similar to its Windows 8 origins, the Stardock app replaces the tile-filled Start Menu into a Windows 7 classic menu. Called Start10, this application lets users can get their familiar menu back and still enjoy the new features and security of Windows 10. It’s only $5, so you don’t have spend an arm and leg getting your familiar desktop back.

We’re aware there will be alternatives to Start10, and some of them may be free, but we feel Stardock has done a really good job designing the application and adding some pretty cool features and options. For example, there are a few neat themes and configurations that can be made to the Start10 menu and you can choose to make your menu look more modern or make it almost resemble Windows 7 exactly. Better yet, you can still access the Windows 10 Start Menu too if you need to.

Why not take it for a spin yourself? It’s currently in beta at the moment, but you can get a 30-day free trial to the software. After using it and if you like it, $5.00 is not a bad deal. The official public release of the application will be on August 12th, so it’s not far away.

    Start10

I had Stardock Start Menu on the system I upgraded and it is still there with no sign of the Windows 10 start menu.

    This is a new version.
As you see, this version is designed to run specifically on Win10.

Pete I upgraded and my Stardock stayed there looking exactly the same as it was in 8.1 though I do remember doing an upgrade a while ago.

I won't be keeping the program though....... why would I want to go backwards and use an old fashion start menu!!

For anyone interested, these are the control settings available:

For the money they are charging, it's worth every penny.
For the user that desperately wants Win10 to become Win7 ..... they'll be happy.
