Sometimes, using my notebook, my wifi connection at home disconnects and when I look for available networks I can see my SSID (and others), but for mine with the mention "no internet available". Nevertheless I can connect with my smartphone, so it must not be an issue with the ISP. After unplugging and plugging the modem the notebook usually connects, but not always for long.

I have run windows troubleshooter, with no result, disabled and enabled the network adaptor, I tried to update the drivers but windows says the ones now are the best ones.

Asus says that it sold the PC to work with windows 8, so now that I updated it to windows 10 they can do nothing, no responsibility on their side.

The problem started months after I updated to windows 10.

I am not rolling back to windows 8.1, before that I would buy an ethernet cable, which I do not have now.

    What should I do?

Is this the same computer you're having problems with when clicking on icons in the Admin account?

I'd check the wireless network adapter driver in Device Manager.
Right-click or press and hold on the Start button (that's the one with the Windows logo), then select Device Manager from the context menu.

The problem appeared like in February and I have not done much about it sofar because is intermitent, happens mostly at weekends, but then I can also connect always with my smartphone and the download speed reads 28 Mbps, which is the normal one.
in this onedrive folder I have more info:

Thanks for the info in your OneDrive folder. I didn't know you could share OneDrive folders. How about that.

I'll have to get back to you tomorrow as I need to shut down. In the meantime, try uninstalling the wireless network adapter and restarting your computer. When the computer restarts, it should see the wireless network adapter and reload the driver.

Maybe one of the other techs will chime in.

Have you tried connecting via Ethernet cable yet?

How is the connection after doing what Tony has suggested.
Is there any configuration setting that have been done to or for the WiFi?

You can also remove the reference from the list of WiFi you have connected to then reconnect to your network and see if that helps.

    Hi,
I have further researched the web and many people have the exactly the same problem with exactly the same wi-fi adapter and driver and windows 10 last update. No fix seems to work, no newer driver.
Apparently only hopes: a microsoft update, usb wifi adapter really compatible or the old cable.

I have attached a file that you will need to download to your desktop and unzip it.
Right click on the Network Test.exe and select Run as Administrator
If the UAC come up click Yes
Once the program has finished it will create a file called NetworkResults.txt
Copy the information form that file and Paste into your next post.

    A) with regard to the driver, I note:
    1) on this site there is a newer driver for my WIFI adapter, v10.0.0.341 released 2016-05-20. I have downloaded this one
    2) this is an unofficial website, I can really trust it?, is not there an official site with this driver?
    3) the driver has 6 files with extensions .cat, .inf or .sys. How do I install them (I am just used to installing by clicking on an exe file)

    B) Network Test.exe. I have downloaded the file I will run it next time my SSID shows with "no internet connection" or just does not even show anymore for the PC (but works for the smartphone).

If you could run the Network Test.exe while you have a connection so I can have a comparison to for a base would help too.

Mcfee & Avast put your file in quarantine, they do not let it run indicating that it contains a variety of virus Artemis.
Is there any other test that I can run safely which can be useful?

Do you have both MacAfee and Avast installed on your computer?

Will have to look into that since I wrote the file as a batch and converted it to an executable. It may be the way I have converted it yet thanks for letting me know.

Will attach the batch file try that and see how that works. If the same issue come up please let me know.

I have a Windows 10 computer in here with the same wireless network adapter. It connects to my router, but no Internet. Hopefully, I'll come up with something for you.

I've uninstalled the wireless network adapter and let Windows re-install it on the next boot. There was no indication that Windows found new hardware and was installing the driver. Maybe this is a W10 thing. However, after several reboots, the wireless connection is working.

So - go to the Device Manager. Uninstall the wireless network adapter. Restart. Check Device Manager. You should see the wireless network adapter is installed. Check your Internet connection.

I am done that, and reset network connections and troubleshoot this connection .... and similar and nothing helps.
I do think that it is a drive issue and only way forward is either to accept being randomly a couple of hours without internet or get a ethernet cable.
Still I will try your batch file on Monday night
