Recently I booted my computer and the monitor would not display. I cleaned the entire unit. I hooked the PC to a different monitor, and still nothing. I replaced the video card and still nothing. I replaced the CMOS battery and still nothing. The light on the motherboard is green, I am sure that all the cables and components works correctly. I am unable to use the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers connected to the monitor. What could be the problem? Is there a simple or any solution that does not involve buying a new computer?

Welcome to Computer Help Forums, Spare parts!

It seems that you have a hardware issue with either your MOBO or PSU. If it were the Hard drive you would still be able to see your bios on the screen. You seem to have already ruled out the graphics card, but, in saying that there would be a driver issue if you were unable to install the new card.

We have a few UK members who will wake up in a few hours and may be able to help you.

Does your motherboard have onboard graphics? If it does, there will be a monitor connection on it, without the aid of a video card. If it does, take out the video card and try that.

Failing that, does your system make any noises when you try to start it up? any beeps?

Also, try disconnecting everything external to your PC, except the monitor, keyboard and mouse and try booting it again.

Finally, do you have any access to another PSU that you can try to swap into your machine if needed?
