Not sure if browser issue but just placed online order and some program called WEB COMPANION popped up in tray. I cannot find this in AddRemove or Program files but have a hunch I want to get rid of it. Cannot seem to open it, no page appears, it is just THERE.
Anybody know what this is and how to get rid of it??????

And what is VLC Web that now shows up in the Allow/Block bar at top of Firefox 52.5.2 of this CHF page??? I clicked continue blocking.

Just found it in AddRemove. Is this something to keep? Never saw it before. Got things I do not know I have or at least have never had obvious need. Did not remove for I wanted to see reply.

Did you install Ad-Aware by Lavasoft on your computer, Bill?
In any case, it's not something that you want.
Ad-Aware is often times an install as a third party bundle when you install a different program.

VLC includes a web interface, which you can enable to access your VLC player from a web browser, controlling playback from another device – particularly useful for a media center PC. VLC also offers a mobile web interface for smartphones.

Hi, Cindy. Thanks for reply. I DO seem to have Lavasoft AdAware. Listed in Programs and in Add/Remove. I forgot when or where I got it. Are youaying I should remove it? That would suit me. Also have CC Cleaner , AdW cleaner, and Cybereason RansomeFree.
Maybe these are what are keeping Windows 7 from properly shutting down?
I will remove AdAware if you say so. What about the other 3...are they OK?

I went ahead and removed the Lavasoft Web Companion. I do have a VLC player but use no other devices nor need or want any.
