VLC and Win11

    I have a lot of MKV Video Files on a USB 3.0 Drive Bay.

    I have Win11 but I set VLC as Media Player.

    If I use Window Explorer I can look in the Drive and Play all my MP3 Files.

    If I try to play my MKV Video Files it will open VLC then close it and not play them.

    If I open VLC on the DeskTop then go to Open File and go to the Drive I can Open and play the MKV Files ok.

    So I go through making VLC my Media Player again for this File Type and the same thing happens.

    Can anybody help?

    Shot in the dark here. Open VLC and click on Tools / Preferences.
    In the bottom left corner, select SHOW ALL Settings.
    In there, search for CODEC.
    Check the File Caching. Set it to 1000 if it is not there already.
