The remember user name and password appears to not be functioning. I have to manually type these in each time I sign in.

    Thanks

If it's any consolation .... i have to sign in every time as well.

Sometimes it goes to a second log in screen. If the remember me is checked there is should remember it. I had the same thing and then it stopped so there is hope.

I think the new software has a bad memory then ..... 'Remember Me' is checked in mine, but it still doesn't remember me.

Just another thought, But I sign in using my email rather than my user name, and my test account 1diot I always do the same with, never have any problems with that account just wondering if this could be the source of the problem, BRB off to play, lol am I on a forum or messenger?

I don't have any problems and stay logged in.
As Match says it is most likely how you handle your cookies,
whether it is Browser cookie settings, or some cookie program you run that can't tell the difference between good and bad cookies.

It's obviously something to do with the login box that comes up.
I just tried to login ...... got the usual login box come up,
because i'm still half asleep i typed in the wrong password!
Then an alternative page came up and said the password was invalid and to try again.
This page remembered my login details when i started to type.
So why does one page remember the details but not the other?

I seem to recall a similar situation when we first started with IPB. I could be wrong. But it eventually got resolved.

In the meantime I am remembered too. But you are right, when you get the first log in page I entered my username and no password. That made the new screen pop up and I have been remembered ever since.

If you use the popup from the main page to login it will not save your session. This is for security purposes. If you use the main login screen and select keep logged in it will keep you logged in for 14 days at which time the session will expire.

Since the upgrade all the javascript has been changed. If your browser is caching any of the old files things like this will happen. You have to do a hard refresh, control+shift, to load the new scripts. You can also do this by editing your browser options and in Firefox select advanced tab > network > clear cache. Make sure you are not on the site when you do this. It will clear the cache, but, not for the site you're on. That is a quirk in Firefox.
